An X-rated bit of carpentry work, that was carved high into the dark ceilings of a church in Hereford, has been exposed hundreds of years later thanks to the construction of a new cafe. Hereford’s All Saints Church has suddenly found itself the centre of attention after an ancient carving of a man holding his legs up high and leaving it….all to hang out, was discovered and shared online. The story got momentum after the image of the carving was uploaded to Reddit with the caption "800 years ago at All Saints Church in Hereford, England, a skilful carpenter carved this gentleman high up in the dark roof where nobody could see him. Five years ago they built an extra floor with bright lights for a restaurant.” Image Credit: Reddit As reported by the Mirror, the work was reportedly hidden from view in the darkness of the roof at Hereford's All Saints Church, dating back hundreds of years and all that time going completely undetected by visitors. Many have begun to speculate about the true intentions of the craftsman, with some suggesting the carpenter was not paid properly for his work and this was his way of subtlety getting back at those who hired him. The work is now illuminated at the cafe so should you visit, you’ll be able to enjoy a fresh cup of coffee while sitting directly underneath the naked ‘imp’. (H/T Mirror)
