Jamie Nokes, 48, owns Jamie’s Plastering and Renovations and has showcased a commitment to sustainability, customer service and encouraging more women into the trade, Worcester Observer reported. He will now compete against 26 other top tradespeople from the UK for a chance to be shortlisted as a finalist. If successful, he will be one of 10 finalists to take part in the final on September 27. The winner will be crowned Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2024 and take home a trade bundle of tools, tech, and training worth £20,000. “I never thought I’d get this far, to be honest. Reaching the national final in September would be an outstanding achievement, especially when you look at the calibre of the other tradespeople I’m up against. “I hope my passion for plastering shines through and that my commitment to encouraging more people into the industry is enough to secure me a place in the final.” The award is in its 15th year and is being presented alongside reigning champion Astrid Arnold, a Devon-based carpenter who claimed the accolade in 2023.
