Stuart Wyeth from Sky Lofts and SW Homes and Developments, recently joined Mark Millar to discuss loft conversions and explained the value they can add to an existing property or new build. Wyeth said: “Loft conversions add value to the property. By adding a loft, you are adding up to 50% of value to your property and depending on where you are in the country, a loft can cost anything between £50 to £100,000 depending on the space you want to add. “They are a great way of adding value if it is a primary residence and you would like to add another bedroom or kids are growing up and sharing room, there are really a good way to just increase the family size. “It’s important to note that before conversion of a loft, one has to be aware of whether the building is listed or not and also being aware of Article 14 directive in especially in newly built estates, where everyone is not allowed to extend the size of their housing stock by as much as they can.” For the full show, listen here
