Panasonic highlights green strategy and milestones for Europe at ISH 2023

Posted: Tuesday, April 4th, 2023

Tech vendor Panasonic has set out its European strategy to enable greener heating and support the energy transition away from fossil fuels at the recent trade fair for the heating industry, ISH 2023 in Frankfurt.

Hiroshi Komatsubara, managing director of Panasonic HVAC Business Division Europe, said: “We are investing €550million in the European market with a range of activities including developing our Czech factory to strengthen A2W production and expanding the Panasonic R&D Centre in Italy working on local-fit product, low-GWP refrigerant product, clean technology, sensing technology, indoor air quality solutions as well as other initiatives. We also mark today our latest milestone to accelerate the expansion of our Hydronic Systems business for our hydronic / chiller portfolio.”

Enrique Vilamitjana, Managing Director Panasonic Heating & Ventilation A/C Europe said the company has been making huge efforts to electrify the heating sector by bringing out new A2W and A2A heat pump technology as well as investing in facilities and resources across Europe. In addition to the factories previously mentioned, Panasonic now has a skilled organisation including 25 sales offices and 43 training centres offering engineering, customer, service and maintenance support.

Demand for sustainable heating and cooling across Europe remains strong.

Vilamitjana said: “With unique heating and cooling technologies for our air-to-water heat pumps, air conditioning ranges and chillers, energy efficiency is at the core of our activities designed to provide households and businesses with more energy resilience and energy security. At the same time, our efforts in building up the ecosystem have been growing tremendously which - due to the high demand for heat pumps - is currently being expanded. We see great potential in the coming years in Europe for technologies to assist in decarbonisation.”
