On today’s Electrical Show, Thomas Nagy speaks to Amy Barrat Singh (aka Amy the Sparky) and Danny Webb (Sparky Milan) - a power couple in the 'electrical' trade. The pair share the experiences and challenges of living and working together. The pair also share how they got started in the trades. Amy said: "Both my brothers and my dad are electricians, so I was curious. But I didn't really think it was option for me as a girl. But I'm working to change that." Danny added: "I grew up in an era where being in the trades was like a consolation prize, if you weren't smart enough for other things. I actually started out in an office but soon made the swap - thank goodness." As to what they both focus on in particular, both do domestic and commercial projects: "Anything but metalwork!" they said. Amy worked for three or four different companies when she started out, before she decided to go solo: "I'm not sure what pushed me, probably the money!" Danny adds: "As soon as you take on the private work, you realise you can earn a lot more on your own." To listen to the full show, click below.
