Terry Anderson from A Touch of Colour may not have had the perfect start to life but has turned it around thanks to the trade of painting and decorating. At the age of 12, Terry's parents separated and that pushed him down the wrong route of crime and addiction, eventually landing him in prison twice. He was also diagnosed with ADHD. However, his story doesn't end there, in his mid-20s he focused his energy into his painting and decorating business, which he'd started earlier to fund his addiction. Seven years later, A Touch of Colour is a blooming business now, with Terry managing a large team and buying himself a house. "I've got a home with the wife, which I never in a million years dreamed off. I always thought I would live in council housing," he exclaims. Work-wise, he's taking on commercial and domestic work, networking, and delving into spraying. He elaborates on passion for spraying: "After COVID, I took the leap into spraying and did a course too. Now, we spray a lot of kitchens and furniture. We use a special paint designed for spraying and our customers love it." Terry also shares his views on paints: "We've been using Johnstone's Perfect Matt and have never had any quality issues with it. We're also using Johnstone's Aqua Guard; we switched from Crown Paint's Fastflow." Listen to the full podcast here.
