A self-employed joiner who has left work after being diagnosed with cancer is being supported by friends and family who have rallied around him, Glasgow Live reported. Dad-of-two Kevin Brady got a devastating stage four bowel cancer diagnosis in April 2022 after visiting the A&E at Monklands with severe stomach pains. He has since had numerous chemotherapy sessions, something which the 44-year-old will be on for the rest of his life. Living in Cumbernauld with wife Sharon, 42, and children Orla and Sean - aged 11 and 16 - the dad's life has turned upside down. His family and friends have come together to take part in the Blackpool marathon this April to raise money for Kevin and his family. A GoFundMe has so far raised over £24,000 of its £25k target. Some people will be running the full marathon while others will take part in a half-marathon. Family friend Kirsty Tyrell, from Kilsyth, says that everyone is trying all that they can to support the family during this difficult time. The Blackpool marathon takes place on Sunday, April 21 and you can donate to the cause here.
