Police in Kent have made seven arrests and recovered more than 1,000 suspected stolen items including a huge number of power tools. The raid, which took place at the end of April also discovered four vehicles, a quad bike and six caravans. The combined value of the stolen items is expected to be around half a million pounds. The police were originally led to the site by a tracking device on a stolen drill. --- Construction buyers have reported a 14% rise in business activity in April, sparking optimism around an increase in construction output during the year. S&P Global’s purchasing manager index increased to 53 points in April, registering the strongest pace of expansion since February of last year. Commercial building activity was the star performer, increasing for the first time since August 2023. Nearly half of survey respondents also expected an increase in construction output in the next 12 months.
