Charlie Mullins, flamboyant former owner of Pimlico Plumbers is planning a comeback. Mullins sold his stake In Pimlico to US- facilities firm, Neighbourly, for an estimated £140 million, in 2021. He has since called the decision the “biggest mistake” of his life. According to reports, his new firm will be called The WeFix Team and will open for business next year. --- Government figures suggest there is a slowdown in the uptake of heat pumps and insulation. Analysis of ONS data by Social Market Foundation indicates that the percentage of new dwellings using renewable energy for central heating, including heat pumps, dropped slightly in the last year. According to the think-tank, the government’s aim of reaching net zero by 2050 is now in jeopardy. Niamh Regan, researcher with Social Market Foundation said the progress towards decarbonisation and electrification of home heat is stalling and, in some cases, going backward. --- And finally, an electrician in Australia has sparked controversy this week, by asking his customer for a tip after finishing his quickly. As the debate raged on Reddit, Sydney-based electrician, and business owner Adrian Faull, told Yahoo that although tipping wasn’t the norm, perhaps it was a “creative way of evolving the service industry for tradesmen”.
