This week Andy Cam summarises his week at Installer 2023, on The Heating & Plumbing Show. "I got there on Monday, to help set up several stands with my mate, after which I went for a stroll around the exhibition hall to check out the other stalls," he says. He also spoke about inventions from manufacturers and meeting familiar and new faces. "It was really interesting. One of my heroes was there - Stewart Pearce. I saw him on a stand when he was chatting to people, sadly I didn't get a chance to interact with him." Andy also recollected seeing boxer Frank Bruno and attending the Plumber Social. The duo was also joined by John Cruickshank of Cruickshank's Plumbing, Heating & Gas to chat about his experiences at the exhibition. "I attended all three days because it was a big show. I really didn't know what to expect this year and it didn't disappoint. "There was so much - renewable technology, solar panels, heat pumps, and new gas boilers. It was an amazing three days," he states. Something he was disappointed with was the lack of manufacturers demonstrating their products or training. Further, in the show, Todd shares his experience at Glastonbury. "It was my fourth time, the last I was at the festival was seven years ago. It was just phenomenal. I'd encourage you all to try getting tickets at least once in your lifetime," he says. He also spoke about the plumbing at the festival, especially since it has an audience of over 200,000. "For that week it's the most densely populated place on earth. Famously, the toilets are called 'long drops' as they sit on a hole that's quite deep. They are there all year long. "There's also the eco-friendly ones with sawdust that don't smell awful. The plumbing is good and bad," he claims. Listen to the whole show here.
