A young electrician chose to wear shorts on a cool workday after joking that she was subconsciously 'gaslit' by her blokey coworkers. Sarah, from Victoria, told the MailOnline that she shared her experience in a now-viral TikTok video alongside the caption 'feels illegal to wear pants' and appeared freezing in her shorts. The 20-year-old gave in and decided to wear shorts instead of pants to fit in with her co-workers. “Working with boys and being gaslit into wearing short in 14 [degrees Celsius],” she wrote in the video. And the video, which has now been viewed more than 103,000 times, Sarah can be seen wearing a jumper under her work uniform paired with shorts and work boots. Gaslighting sees people question their feelings, instincts, and even their sanity on topics they know to be true - in this case, the cold weather. In the comments other TikTok users encouraged Sarah to wear “what she feels comfortable in”. “Don't be peer pressured to do anything you don't want to do because your a hot looking female. You should be treated exactly the same as the rest,' one person wrote. “She is getting treated like everyone else, tradies always call out each other for wearing long pants,' another claimed. “A third joked: 'Shoulda been a mechanic.”
