Disgraceful scenes were shared live on Instagram on Tuesday that showed two tradesmen in Rockingham, Australia, being attacked by up to 10 students while they were at a school premises fixing up an issue. The tradesmen were called out to fix a burst fire hydrant when they were suddenly attacked by the students at SMYL Community College - a school offering alternative education for at-risk teenagers who don’t cope in a traditional school setting. While it’s not yet clear was started the brawl and altercation, the footage shows the outnumbered workers being verbally abused by the students who surround the men and can be heard yelling “bomb him, bomb that motherf****…”. Up to six of them can be seen throwing punches at the men who are forced into a corner during the terrifying incident. As reported by news.com.au, It’s understood the tradies had arrived at the school to repair a fire hydrant that had been damaged and was leaking water. The situation turned nasty after they had turned the hydrant off. In a statement released after the incident, a police spokesman said “It is believed a verbal altercation took place between a group of students and a contractor working at the school”. The director of the college Sam Gowegati also released a statement, saying “We’re reviewing all practices and procedures to find out exactly what happened yesterday,” he said. “It is an atypical event. We’re just trying to figure out what happened and what triggered it. “A number of students have been currently sent home to decide what their futures are going to be.” You can watch the full video here Image Credit: Instagram (H/T news.com.au)
