In a case that is almost certain to be the most unusual crime story of 2021, residents in a West Sussex village were shocked to find that an entire pavement had been stolen overnight in a bizarre theft. An estimated 50 Yorkstone slabs were found missing in a library carpark pathway in Storrington, West Sussex, with baffled officials believing the theft was carried out in the middle of the night. I know what you’re thinking , clearly crime in the area has gone down an unprecedented path. As reported by the Mirror, James Wright, Horsham District Councillor for Storrington and Washington, released a statement “It looks like they were stolen overnight which is obviously shocking. As is the case with most unusual news stories these days, after the image was shared on Reddit by a local resident, the story caught people’s attention all over the world - with hundreds of users finding the funny side to the situation and coming up with some truly great one line comments to sum up the situation.
