This morning on The Bald Builders Breakfast, Brad and Sam revealed Britain's Filthiest Builder’s Radio. What started off as a joke on The Bald Builders Breakfast has changed in the last month into a nationwide hunt for the grubbiest, dirtiest, knackered site radio. The winning entry, which belongs to Chris Kitchenside, a groundworker and multi-tradesmen from Boreham Wood, is a battered Matika site radio, with a golf ball screwed in to replace the dial, and an old car aerial stuck in the top. Jack Edwards, senior producer, on The Bald Builders Breakfast, with Fix Radio said: "Chris' radio represents the best of Britain.” "The device has been alongside him through thick and thin, providing countless hours of entertainment and joy as he worked to make people's homes better.” More than 40 tradespeople from across the UK, including builders, painters, scaffolders and carpenters, took part in Fix Radio's competition to find Britain's dirtiest site radio. Edwards added: “British builders are the backbone of society and help make our lives much easier. We wanted to show the art which inspires this generation of builders – the humble radio, which keeps them going throughout the working day.” Listen to Brad and Sam chat to this year's winner Chris Kitchenside below.
