Building materials are at an all-time high, fuel prices continue to sky-rocket, we’ve been told an energy price crisis is on the way and now it seems that the iconic baked goods from Greggs are the latest life essential that has been affected by price rises too. Eagle-eyed customers have flocked to twitter and called out the company after the price of a sausage roll raised by 5p at the start of 2022. A sub-standard £1 was all it took to get your hands on a tasty pastry for so many years but those days are behind us, with Indy100 reporting that other items on the menu are set for a price hike between 5-10%. The biggest crime I've seen this year is greggs increasing the price of a sausage roll to £1.05 A spokesperson for the bakery chain told Bloomberg why this devastating incident is happening. They said: “Ingredients and labour costs have been rising and Greggs is not immune from that.” “The company does absorb some of the cost but has put up prices by about 5-10 pence across the range.” (H/T Indy100)
