An electrician has told people to keep an eye on their felines' toilet habits, after a call-out which turned bizarre. Ricky Stubbs, a Bridport-based electrician, was called out to a house recently suffering from a power cut, DorsetLive has reported. Stubbs, of Chris Stubbs and Son Electrical, arrived to the property on Friday evening (February 24) and found a blackened, burned out electrical socket inside. The electrician noticed there was some moisture on the plug, which he assumed must have caused the outage. When he couldn't figure out where the moisture had come from, he engaged what he called a "touch and sniff technique". This moisture, however, had a strange smell which Stubbs realised, to his horror, matched that of cat urine. "My reaction was definitely - what a way to end a good week," Stubbs said. "Lesson learnt and potentially one sore cat." "This could easily cause a fire due to many reason. The plug top was completely destroyed and melted, exposing live parts. Luckily the fuse board did work and power turned off which prevented further damage." He went on that this was certainly a first in his time working as an electrician since 2003. "I have come across a few strange, weird and wonderful things in 20 years but this was another first," Stubbs said.
