Who doesn’t like a good meltdown video am I right? A disgruntled Dominos employee’s reaction at not getting a tip has gone viral which all started after he got back to the store from making a delivery and had not received a tip. We should point out that this happened in the USA, where tipping is an almost guaranteed part of life with minimum wage so low there. Back to the outburst though, and in the footage released on TikTok it starts out like that iconic scene in The Office when Michael Scott - Steve Carell - finds out Toby has come back to work and can’t stop yelling the word “No”. The disgruntled employee is in a fit of rage, slapping his hands and screaming that he had been “waiting out in the rain for 5 minutes” and still did not receive a tip from the customer. Attempting to calm the man down but almost certainly trying to bait the angry driver, the bloke filming can be heard saying “bro just calm down you’ve only gotta take one more delivery”. Well that was it. The driver than bellows out “No, I don’t want to work here anymore!. 5 Minutes. 5 minutes in rain and still no tip?!”. Needing a fitting ending, he just so happened to be standing next to an incredibly large stack of empty Dominos pizza boxes that would end up being the victim of an almighty slap down. Sending the pizza boxes flying! Image from TikTok user @leaks._.world The clip has been viewed by more than 1.6 Million times and has almost 200,000 likes. People commenting on the post have both supported the driver but also pointed out that employers in the States should be doing more to ensure drivers don’t rely on tips. One user in support of his actions wrote "To the people who are complaining about leaving a tip... you simply shouldn't eat out or maybe go pick it up yourself. Drivers rely on tips!!" Another added "If you can't tip then don't order out. Literally in a pandemic.” Highlighting the issue of tipping reliance, one wrote "Honestly tho tipping is a broken system no one should rely on tips, companies start paying ur workers brah." What do you think? Was this an overreaction or did the guy have a point? For those not familiar with The Office reference please watch this and enjoy... (H/T Ladbible)
