Tradesmen and business owners signing up for a Checkatrade membership will be eligible to claim a Toolstation gift card of up to £200 to spend in-store, online, or on the app, ElectricalTimes reported. This is part of the supplier of tools, accessories, and building materials Toolstation’s 20th-anniversary celebrations since it launched the business in 2003. In addition to the new member offer, which runs along the £200 fuel card, tradespeople can also claim other discounts from their Checkatrade membership, which is said to save them an average of £470 each year. These include up to 10 per cent off business mobile phone plans from EE and up to 10 per cent off van hire from Enterprise. Mike Fairman, CEO of Checkatrade said: “With rising costs affecting tradespeople as well as homeowners, we’re proud to be working with Toolstation to offer new members such a warm welcome. “This is just one of the many benefits of signing up to Checkatrade – with over 4.5 million job opportunities created by homeowners on Checkatrade in the last year, our platform is the ideal place for trades to expand their customer base and source new jobs.” Chris Maggs CRM Manager at Toolstation on his part said that the partnership of bringing two brands together “makes perfect sense”. He added: “Checkatrade’s members are exactly the type of people who will benefit most from Toolstation’s great depth of product range and continuing great value.” To be eligible for the Toolstation gift card, tradesmen must meet Checkatrade’s member criteria which include passing a vetting process and having valid public liability insurance.
