Dave Keyzer, a joiner from Tameside, has reached the semi-finals of Screwfix Top Tradesperson 2024, Manchester World reported. Dave, 57, who owns Heritage Joinery, has over 35 years of experience in the trade. In the initial application, Dave showcased his devotion, commitment, and professionalism, which secured him a place in the semi-finals for the national award. Dave started his career on the bench at a window manufacturer. He returned to college to qualify as a joiner and start his own business. Dave has since trained many apprentices along the way and, over the last two decades, has spent a lot of time at his local college to inspire, teach and help other joiners and carpenters. Now, he will compete against 26 other top tradespeople from across the UK and the Republic of Ireland to be shortlisted as a finalist. If Dave is successful, he will become one of just ten finalists to participate in the in-person final, which will be held at Screwfix LIVE on September 27th, 2024. With the national award now in its 15th year, Dave hopes to join the Screwfix Top Tradesperson Hall of Fame in 2024, taking place alongside reigning champion Astrid Arnold, a Devon-based carpenter, who claimed the accolade in 2023.
