The East Anglia Energy Academy – which opens on 16 May 2024 – is the latest offering from OEA, a provider of energy training courses, Electrical Times reported. The East Anglia Energy Academy is not just a training centre but a 'gateway to a promising career' in trade skills. It is designed to entice more young people onto this career path and inspire established tradespeople to enhance their skills, with a special focus on renewable energy. With trade vacancies at a record high, the need for a new, dedicated trade skills training academy has never been more important. Located in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, the new skills centre offers a wide range of training courses, assessments, and qualifications across gas, electrical, plumbing, oil, and renewable energy skills. The fully equipped academy is in partnership with Reed Environment, launched by Reed in Partnership last July [2023] to create an essential, specifically trained green workforce to help the UK meet its Net Zero targets. All training courses are open to members of the public.
