Danny Madden answers some questions about his working practices, tools, materials, and thoughts on the trade. He also shares important information on an upcoming tool theft protest in London. Recalling his favourite jobs, Danny says he loves a job that involves a lot of detail. "A roof that has a lot of variety. "A roof that sticks out in my mind is one where we had everything - roof lights, roof tunnels, chimney stacks and valleys. It just kept the brain working. It was an absolute dream. Additionally, the weather was great." Non-paying customers are his worst nightmare. For Danny, it's demoralising and demotivating. When it comes to tools, Danny is a bit biased towards Festool. "I've used Makita for years; it's a reliable brand and good value for money, but having said that, I love Festool." A victim of tool theft, Danny is furious with the situation. "It's time we took a stand and stopped it!" He adds: "On Monday, 3 June, I'll be supporting Trades United at Westminister in London, which will see tradespeople come together to raise awareness of tool theft." Danny also chatted with Shoaib Awan, the protest's organiser, to learn more about the event on June 3rd. Listen to the podcast here.
