Cure It builds and donates bikes to homeless charity

Posted: Thursday, March 28th, 2024

Cure It teamed up with charity team building company o3e to build and donate bicycles for a housing and homeless charity, according to RCI Mag.

On 23 March, a team from Cure It met up at Chester Racecourse with o3e, a B Corp-certified team building and events company, to assemble six bikes which were donated to Chester Aid to the Homeless charity (CATH).

CATH offers support, encouragement, and a safety net for homeless people in crisis living in and around the city of Chester.

Each bike is intended to provide homeless individuals with enhanced mobility and access to opportunities within the community.

Belinda Harris-Grave, project manager at Cure It and organiser of the day, said: “We wanted our team building day to be enjoyable and memorable, but we also wanted other people to benefit from the day too.

“The Charity Bike Build, delivered by o3e, seemed the perfect option as we know people receiving the bikes will be able to access a wider range of opportunities in their area whilst promoting physical and mental wellbeing.”

With the support of businesses, o3e was able to donate over £371,000 worth of items to charities, schools, and community projects last year alone, with 391 bikes valued at £156,400.

The team at Cure It was keen to contribute to this year’s figures towards o3e’s social impact, being a part of paving the path for a brighter future for people in the community.
