Fix Radio, the Builders Station is giving you the listener the chance to cancel Christmas. The Builders Station is encouraging its audience of tradespeople to text FIX-MAS for Christmas tunes, or FiX-OFF, if they want to ban festive music. The whole idea stemmed from an argument between Brad and Sam, the hosts of the Bald Builders Breakfast, about whether it is too early for Christmas tunes. So we've decided to hand responsibility for our festive playlist to you. Across Fix Radio, presenters are now encouraging listeners to text in FIX-MAS if they want to keep Christmas tunes on the station, or FiX-OFF if they want to bin the festive records. “It’s just too early for Christmas music. Let’s be honest there are only a few good Christmas songs, and they get played to death,” argued Sam Hughes, one half of the Bald Builders. Co-presenter, Brad Hanson couldn’t disagree more. The father of five, put his decorations up in November and is convinced December is a month-long celebration. “You’ve got to have Christmas tunes on in the van and on site. Get into the spirit! It’s the best time of the year!” Fix Radio will close its FIX-MAS or FiX-OFF poll on the 15th of December. Depending on the result, the station’s music will either be dominated by festive favourites from the 18th of December. Or you won’t hear a note from Slade, Wizard, Michael Bublé, The Pogues or Mariah Carey et al until Christmas Day. To vote for Christmas tunes all the way; text FIX-MAS to 81400 (remember to start your message with Fix or it won't get through).
Or if you have had enough of the Fairytale of New York, Merry Christmas Everybody, or Santa Baby text: FIX-OFF.
