Benchin' Bricky and Tricky Bricky discuss their experiences on the tools

Posted: Tuesday, January 30th, 2024

Isaac Hallam aka Izzy The Bricky host of The Bricklaying Show is joined by Adam Fillis aka Tricky Bricky and Harrison Elliott aka Benchin' Bricky to hear about their experiences on the tools, how they see the future and their opinions about the trade.

Fillis reveals that he was seven years old when decided bricklaying was the career for him. Elliott went to a building site at the age of 15 to understand the trade since his family is in construction. However, he thought it wasn't for him, he went to university and got a bachelor's and master's degrees.

"After pursuing rugby and other career options, I decided it was time to get into the family business and here I am today," he shares.

The duo outlines their fun experiences on the trade and dealing with tricky customers. "I've worked on some strange houses over the years," says Elliott.

Recalling a job at a customer's garden, Fillis says: "It was a small extension with a nice garden. They had two dogs - a Staffy and a little chihuahua - and I've never in my life seen so much dog poo in a garden."

Further, they discuss close calls on the job including falling from scaffolds as well as what they look forward to in 2024.
