AUDIO NEWS: Half of construction professionals use AI and police arrest two men with stolen tools in car

Over half of construction professionals are now using artificial intelligence in work – that’s according to a survey by The Access Group. 

Those using the technology claimed it had saved them on average just under three hours a week. Over 90% said it had positively impacted their workplace.

ChatGPT was the most popular AI tool, with survey respondents.

Nearly two thirds of those using gen AI tools also said it had helped to reduce stress and anxiety about their jobs.

Alex Boury, general manager at Access Construction said, “Tools like ChatGPT can help speed up routine tasks like writing emails.

Pothole-related breakdowns leapt up by a fifth in the final months of last year. 

The RAC’s Pothole Index claims there were over 4,700 pothole-related breakdowns between October and December.

The breakdown service predicted that the pothole breakdowns are likely to increase in 2025 due to recent severe weather conditions.

Alice Simpson, RAC Breakdown spokesperson said: “The poor condition of Britain’s roads is by far and away drivers’ top concern.”

Two men were arrested after North Yorkshire Police tracked down a car containing stolen tools.

After receiving a report that suspects had taken tools from a parked van in the Long Marston area, police checked residents' security cameras and identified a BMW linked with the theft. 

The vehicle was later identified and pulled over, and when searched the tools were found inside.
