Fuel prices are dropping faster than any point this year, claims the RAC. The price for unleaded and diesel is now 7 pence cheaper than it was a month ago. RAC forecasts that fuel prices could hit a three year low by the end of September. RAC fuel spokesperson Simon Williams said: “it’s really encouraging to see pump prices coming down rapidly, which we know is as good for drivers’ wallets as it is for keeping the headline level of inflation in check.” --- Phil Brown, a roofer based in Boston, Lincolnshire has pledged £500 to help pensioners in his home village affected by the government’s cut to winter fuel payments. 61-year-old Brown told his local newspaper that he thought the cuts were totally wrong and “decided to do something about it.” Other members of the local community have also come forward to pledge their support, including Phil’s friend and former pro footballer Dennis Peacock. --- And finally, Josh Padley, the part-time boxer and electrician who fought on the Anthony Joshua/Daniel Dubois undercard caused a major upset of his own on Saturday night. Padley dropped his opponent Mark Chamberlain in the eighth round on his way to a points victory. Chamberlain, himself a former plasterer until a few months ago, had been expected to win easily and go on to have a shot at a WBO title. --- To listen to the construction news please click below
