AUDIO NEWS: Charlie Mullins plans career switch, and Bournemouth plumber gets hit by tool thieves

Posted: Wednesday, January 15th, 2025

The UK’s richest plumber, Charlie Mullins is planning to switch careers and get into politics after a personal request from Reform UK leader, Nigel Farage.

Mullins, who recently moved to Spain to avoid paying taxes under the Labour government, told TalkTV earlier this week that he would become a councillor somewhere local in London, and “see how it goes from there”.

Despite being an ‘arch-remainer’, Farage is keen to bring Mullins on board due to his straight-talking style and vocal dissatisfaction with Labour’s fiscal policies.

Political commentators have suggested that Mullins could add significant weight to the Reform UK movement.

A plumber in Bournemouth has been left “frustrated and angry” after £1,500 of tools and equipment were stolen from his van.

Mark Payne had parked immediately outside a friend’s house where he was finishing a job, when a thief with a screwdriver cut through his van’s side door.

The 38-year-old self-employed tradie told the local paper that the thief had taken a storage box full of tools.

Dorset Police are currently investigating, but no arrests have been made.

And finally, a Luton-based electrician got the shock of his life last week when he won a new car online.

Conor Napper won a VW Golf worth £36,000 with competition website BOTB.

28-year-old Napper described his win to the local newspaper as “mental”.
