Telford-born builder Callum Doignie was pipped to the top spot in the final of The Voice last Saturday. The 29-year-old performer, who was mentored by Sir Tom Jones on the show, said that his time on the show had changed his life. He was eventually lost out to double act Jen and Liv. Congratulating the winners, Doignie promised that this appearance on The Voice was “just the start.” --- Due to launch in September, Mullins has bought property, hired designers and is investing in a fleet of 100 electric vans. Mullins told This is Money: “We’re going to be a bit like Harrods… we won’t be cheap. We will charge £150 to £200 an hour. But people will always pay for quality.” --- And finally, a builder on the go, almost ate a locust that was in his bag of salad. Phil Hall from Darlington was biting into his home-made sandwich, containing the salad leaves when he thought: “Coronation chicken shouldn’t be that hard and crunchy”.
