How should tradespeople use social media as a tool? How can it be used to build a community? Robin Clevett answers these questions and more as he chats with guests John Roberts and David Byrne. Experienced carpenter and influencer David says his experience with social media has been "enlightening." He adds that the platform is good for work, getting to know people, and learning. But reveals that he went through an exhausting period. "It's like having a full-time job," he says. The pressure to create fresh and relevant content was getting to David. The Landscaping Show's host, John, recalls his early days on social media. "The idea was initially to showcase my work to potential customers. That was 14 years ago. "Now, there are copious amounts of people on social media, and all want to be presenters." He believes that social media platforms are becoming saturated with mediocre trade content. "It's not necessarily about the views or good editing. It's about the watch time. Good content comes from good storytelling," he argues. Listen to the show below.
