Chance Lichfield sitting in for Clive Holland, host of The Clive Holland Show, recently turned attention to the fact it’s the first of the month – so, Chance wanted to know, how do you make a brilliant first impression on your clients, customers and colleagues?! Lichfield was joined by top spark Danny Webb for his thoughts, as well as great friend of the show Reece Stewart from Stewarts Kitchens. Webb said: “It is very important to make a very good impression to your customers whether you are starting out in business or are already established. It is very important to do that. It goes without saying that answering your phone, keeping time and turning up when you have an appointment is all important. In this day and age, the way to get around all this is to use technology.” A caller Oliver Sawyer said: “The thing our customers like is that my dad Mark Sawyer always calls them sir and madam but that’s not all the most important thing is that every customer gets a freebie. They love that.” Another Freddie Gregory added: “Present yourself well. Be as polite as possible and bang up the volume when the big man's on! Ryan from Air Con opined: “I’ve had an odd request from a customer this week that I’m due to look this afternoon, basically a well-known chain of supermarket had a chest freezer that stopped working and I attended the callout and resolved the issue. Whilst I was on site the manager said could I investigate why the store had a foul smell. Dean said: “Maintaining high standards as a painter and decorator is of prime importance. Looking good and being likeable are all traits that a tradesperson must have.” For the full show, listen here
“Honestly, this smell was revolting after four hours of searching for the source, I gave up and told the customer they needed to get pest control in as it smelted like something had died.
“I’m all for helping out but when it takes up most of the day for no extra money , enough is enough!”
