Test centre boss allows 500 people to cheat on CITB's HE&E test, 61% of tradespeople targeted by cyber criminals and a roofer raises £250,000 for charity
A test centre boss has been jailed for two years for allowing over 500 people to cheat on CITB’s health, safety and environment course.
Investigators found that William White and two co-conspirators were selling test passes for up to £500 a time.
The scam was discovered after CITB flagged suspicious activity at the online test centre, based in Essex.
A police raid in October 2023 uncovered evidence of organised and systematic cheating.
CITB has stripped all fraudulent test results and passed the details on to the relevant card schemes.

Nearly two-thirds of tradespeople have been targeted by some form of cyberattack—that’s according to research from Uswitch.
More than half of small and micro businesses also reported feeling out of their depth when trying to deal with cybersecurity issues.
A lack of training, expert support and a limited budget were all issues facing small trade firms trying to manage their IT security.

A roofer who raised over £250,000 for a charity over the last decade picked up the local hero award from the NFRC.
Just last year, Sean Lynden organised a massive charity golf day that generated £70,000 for two local hospices.
For his next challenge, Lynden plans to walk 100 miles, while pushing a hospital bed to raise another £100,000.
