Hannah Spencer wants other tradespeople to join parliament, electrician nearly killed when ladder snaps and threat of tool theft changes tradespeople's behaviour
Hannah Spencer, the plumber who was recently elected MP for Gorton and Denton has called for other tradespeople to join her in the House of Commons.
In her first speech to the house, Spencer said that being a plumber and heading to Westminster should not be “unusual or exceptional”.
Spencer, who is also training to become a plasterer went on to pledge support to those struggling in her Manchester constituency, which she described as of the most deprived in the UK.

Following the accident, Joffrey Bogemans has since had to close his business due to his injuries.
He has now joined a campaign to prevent telescopic ladders like the one he used from being sold via online platforms such as eBay, Amazon or Temu.
Sue Davies from Which? said the government needs to do more to beef up laws to protect consumers and prosecute rogue sellers.
