60% of construction workers say bosses are clueless about health and safety, thieves steal 6,000 litres of fuel and tradespeople prefer packed lunches
Over half of construction workers say the number of accident ‘near misses’ on site have increased in the last two years.
In the safety report from Dräeger, 60% said bosses were clueless about the health and safety situation on the ground.
Mounting staff fatigue, greater pressure to do more with less, and a reluctance among workers to speak up were blamed for the rise in near misses.
The research claimed that current global uncertainty and subsequent operational pressures were making it harder for firms to focus on safety-critical issues.
