Every tradesperson has got a story about a particular ‘find’ on site that has stuck with them forever… and a sparky in Harrogate has just found his tall tale. After being called out to complete some electrical work on the top floor of Regents House, on Alberts Road, Harrogate, an electrician was stunned to find cash and containers full of ketamine stashed in the ceiling. The tradesmen alerted the property agent as soon as he made the discovery. Between £13k and £15k worth of the Class B substance was found in total, with 25-year-old tenant, Carl Harvey, charged with possession with intent to supply others as well as possessing cash gained through criminal activity. Mr Harvey, a window fitter by trade, plead guilty in York Crown Court last week where he was give a 19-month suspended prison sentence for 2 years on the condition of completing 20 days of rehabilitative activities and 180 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to cough up £600 in prosecution costs. As reported by the York Press, Judge Simon Hickey referenced the defendants lack of maturity in sentencing, saying “"This may explain why you got yourself involved in such serious offending," he said. "I am throwing you a lifeline. Take it and all will be well. You will put your drug use behind you.” Forensic scientists found Harvey's DNA and fingerprints on the bag and its contents and he handed himself in. (H/T York Press)
