We love a good cause at Fix Radio. As much as you might read the construction industry getting slammed with all the talk of cowboy builders, dodgy plumbers and 'cash in hand' jobs. However, we don't like that, and we wanna shine a light on the best in the business. Which is why we're proud to support Leyland SDM's Wear It Pink campaign. For October, they have transformed their Shoreditch store by painting it pink, complete with a new fascia, window vinyl’s and staff uniforms. You might not be expecting such a girly colour from a builder's merchant, but there is a good reason. London’s leading decorating and DIY specialists are raising life changing funds for Breast Cancer Now. They're asking each of their customers to donate 50p on every Leyland SDM are also donating 50p to Breast Cancer Now for every paint colour mix that is purchased this October at their Shoreditch store. So, if you're in the London area, pop in. All the money raised will help make life-saving breast cancer research happen. Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, funding world class research focused entirely on breast cancer. The charity is determined to stop women dying from the disease by bringing together all those affected by the disease to fund research, share knowledge and find answers. It will also help fund life-changing support for those living with the disease. Unfortunately the UK still has one of the lowest breast cancer survival rates in Western Europe and this year alone around 11,500 women will lose their lives. Every year around 55,000 women and around 350 men are given the devastating news that they have breast cancer. Despite great strides in research, around 11,500 women and 80 men still die from breast cancer every year – that’s nearly one death every 45 minutes. But it's not only Leyland SDM have partnered with some of their biggest suppliers including Dulux, tesa, Liberon, Everbuild - A Sika Company, Osmo, Makita, Mark Vitow and Toolbank. However, if you're still not sold, we have to tell you there's also something in it for you as well (apart from the moral high!). By donating you enter into the chance to win some fantastic prizes. And, if you want more info on breast cancer for care, support and information from day one, call Breast Cancer Care free on 0808 800
