The firm recently hosted special presentations to hand over money raised to 10 local charities close to its sites in Burton and Lochmaben, chosen by the firm’s 150 staff, Builders’ Merchants News reported. As part of its Give4Good 2024 initiative, Russell Roof Tiles has announced it has raised £80,690, the highest amount ever in a single year, against an original target of £50,000. The company devised Give4Good to support local initiatives. Its staff, suppliers, customers, and partners are encouraged to participate in a variety of innovative events. The local recipients who will benefit from the Give4Good cash this year are D&G Canine Rescue Centre, Lockerbie Wildlife Trust Veterans Garden, Sports Driving Unlimited, and Moffat Mountain Rescue in Scotland. Burton and District Mind, Burton YMCA, Young Ones Burton, Burton Soup Kitchen, Staffordshire, Shropshire, and Cheshire Blood Bikes in Staffordshire received a cheque for £5,586.60. This money is being shared with two international charities, Footprints Family and Odisha Football Club Kids in Poverty Fund, as well as UK charities. Managing director Andrew Hayward celebrated the charities' work and thanked the staff, suppliers, customers, and others who had raised the cash. He said, “I am delighted that we can share the Give4Good cash with some fantastic local causes that do excellent work in the community. “It’s been another record-breaking year of fundraising for us, and despite the cost-of-living crisis, we’ve smashed our target. Our teams have done an amazing job, volunteering their time and efforts to help raise money.” This year, Russell Roof Tiles took part in a wide range of varied events and activities to raise money, including baking, sports, a Race Across Europe challenge, Superstars Challenge, Tough Mudder, Comedy and Race Nights, Big Charity Quiz and Car Boot Sale.
