On this week's show, Joel Bardall and Todd Von Joel are joined by David Williams and Ryan Painter to understand the ins and outs of timber resin repair and wood restoration. Resin specialist David explains how he treats wood rot. "We begin by identifying wood rot by looking for cracks, peeling paint, and checking how soft the wood is. Tools such as day grinders, multi-tools, and chisels are used to take the rot out." Ryan, who carries out restoration and conservation jobs, says repair work is "probably one of the most frustrating and [at the same time] satisfying parts" of decorating. He adds: "Wood is good but it only lasts so long, and a lot of time with sash windows it's like a can of worms. Repair care is normally best for this kind of job." Get the podcast here.
