MCS-certified heat pump installers will find it quicker and easier to apply for the government’s Boiler Upgrade Scheme funding thanks to a newly launched online installer portal, the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy has said. HVP Magazine reports that Installers will now be able to apply for the scheme on behalf of customers via an easy to use portal, where they can check the progress of their application and review any outstanding actions. Installers who have a Boiler Upgrade Scheme account with Ofgem will receive an email with login details in order to start using the portal. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme provides government grants of up to £6,000 to support the installation of heat pumps and biomass boilers in homes and non-domestic buildings in England and Wales. The scheme will run until 2025 and supports in the government’s target to deploy 600,000 heat pumps a year by 2028.
