An electrician helped teenagers escape from a bus after it crashed off the road and into a river. Bruno Aguiar was on his way to work in Eastleigh, when he was almost driven off the road by the out of control bus. After parking up and checking on the injured driver, he rushed to get his ladder off the van and with the help of another man, helped the kids out of the double-decker bus. Of the 20 people onboard, 17 were injured and five were taken to hospital for treatment. --- A robot bricky called Walter is being used to build houses in Durham. The WLTR computerised bricklaying machine is being deployed on a 27-house development by JT Lifestyle Homes. It’s claimed the robot can lay up to 200 square metres of masonry per day, up to 3.5 metres, without scaffolding. Owner and founder of JT Lifestyle Homes, Jan Telensky said: “there are simply not enough bricklayers… to keep up demand for affordable homes, so we must find new solutions.” --- A team of five scaffolders from Scotland has raised nearly £37,000 for a cancer charity after trekking the West Highland Way.
