House builder Vistry has written to its subcontractors asking them to knock 10% off their bills. The firm broke the news to its subcontractors in a letter and now plans to contact its supply chain in the coming days to discuss the ‘discounts.’ Last month Vistry announced a dramatic switch to its business model to become a partnerships-only housing business. --- The Lighthouse Construction Charity has partnered with CITB and the Samaritans to launch a website to support its ongoing mental health campaign, Make it Visible. Make it Visible aims to remove the stigma associated with discussing mental health in the industry. The website offers a range of services covering emotional, physical and financial wellbeing. Research shows that stress, depression or anxiety accounts for 27% of all work-related illness in the construction industry. --- Brickies and other tradespeople could be put on political correctness courses to make sure they use the right pronouns. According to Teesside Live, building firms in the North East are turning to HR specialists to educate them on the legal tripwires, such as people’s gender.
