Nearly two thirds of tradespeople are in favour of using telematics technology to reduce their insurance premiums. The survey of 1,000 tradies by Zego, found that 70% of those aged between 18-and-24-years-old were enthusiastic about installing a ‘black box’ to track their driving behaviour. Nearly three quarters those between 25-and-34 years-old were also happy to share data if it meant reducing their premiums. Between 2023 and 2024, van insurance increased by as much as 25%. But since the start of this year, van insurance prices have come down by nearly 5%. --- Band of Builders has completed a house renovation for a Norfolk widow and mother of six. Over 12 days, a team of more than 40 volunteers completed work, including installing a sensory bedroom and wet-room for her 16-year-old quadriplegic son. Sarah Fletcher’s husband, an electrician, took his own life on Christmas Eve leaving the renovation work unfinished. With the house now complete, Sarah said her family can now begin to heal. --- Barratt Redrow is offering buyers two years of free electricity if they share data on their use of the property’s eco-technology. The pilot scheme, put together with British Gas is open to just ten buyers on a development in Lincolnshire.
