Josh Padley, an electrician and boxer from Yorkshire came up just short in his world title fight against Shakur Stevenson. The 29-year-old was installing solar panels last week when he got a call to fly to Saudi Arabia for the last-minute fight. Padley stepped in for American Floyd Schofield who dropped out due to illness. The Yorkshireman went toe-to-toe with Stevenson for nine rounds, before his corner threw in the towel after he was knocked repeatedly to the canvas. --- The Passivhaus Trust wants 10% of ‘new builds’ to be built to its energy efficient standard. Research from the trade body indicates there are just over 2,200 Passivhaus certified homes in the UK, with another 8,000 properties targeting certification. Jon Bootland, chief executive of the Trust said he exponential growth was being driven by high energy bills and recent funding changes. Bootland added: “We’re aiming to move from 1% to 10% of all new homes by 2035. We also want at least 50% of the industry to understand the principles behind Passivhaus.” --- Over 70% of UK singles would date a tradesperson, claims research by HaMuch. Gardeners, electricians and carpenters topped the list of most desirable tradies.
