AUDIO NEWS: Mental health report highlights increase in stress, and Charlie Mullins plots political comeback

Posted: Thursday, May 8th, 2025

The number of tradespeople experiencing work-related stress on a weekly basis has leapt by nearly 30% in the last year — that is according to IronmongeryDirect.

The Mental Health in the Trades report, released this week also highlighted that the stigma around mental health continued.

Worryingly, 56% of respondents revealed that they didn’t talk to anyone about their mental health, while a little under half said they were concerned how others would perceive them if they opened up.

Despite the greater level of discussion around the issue, 22% of tradespeople claimed they were unsure how to access mental health support services.
