Marlie Packer OBE is joining Fix Radio alongside the Pink Plasterer, Steph Leese, for Tackling the Trades, a brand-new podcast celebrating women working in the trades.
Two-time Women’s Rugby World Cup winner and qualified plumber Marlie Packer is joining the Fix Radio family. The former Red Roses captain will team up with plasterer and content creator Steph Leese for Tackling the Trades, a new podcast launching this September.
The pair will take a light-hearted and honest look at what life is really like for women working on the tools, and will be joined by tradeswomen from across the country to share their own experiences.

From finding workwear that actually fits and pricing jobs, to working with friends and family, building a business through social media and juggling life away from work, the podcast will tackle the subjects that matter to women across the industry.
And Marlie knows first-hand what it’s like to be part of the trade. Before becoming one of the biggest names in women’s rugby, she trained and worked as a plumber, a trade she remains incredibly proud to be part of.

Speaking about joining Fix Radio, she said: “I am delighted to be joining the Fix Radio team.”
“As a qualified plumber, I am proud to be part of a fantastic community of tradespeople. I am looking forward to being a voice for the thousands of brilliant tradeswomen across the country and leading the discussions on the challenges they face.
“I hope to inspire women of all ages to be confident to choose a career ‘on the tools’.”

Tackling the Trades with Marlie Packer and Steph Leese launches in September, with the first episode landing on Friday 11th September. New episodes will then be released every two weeks.
