Clarkson’s Farm employee loses tools worth £7,000 to thieves

Post knockers, used for hammering in fences, and a farm tractor have been stolen from Gerrards Cross in Buckinghamshire

Kaleb Cooper, the farm hand on the TV Show Clarkson’s Farm, has had his machinery, a post knocker, stolen along with another company’s £70,000 John Deere tractor and post knockers, The Sun reported.

A burnt-out SUV used to steal the farm equipment was found down the road. Cooper and Home & Country Fencing, whose tractor was also stolen, shared their story on social media.

A frustrated Cooper vented out on Instagram, saying, “What is going on with England at the moment!”

According to the BBC, the equipment was used in a field off Hawkswood Lane. Cooper told the news broadcaster, "[The thieves] broke into the field and cut a chain off. "They had probably been watching us as it was parked out of sight behind a barn.

"We also had another post knocker stolen 11 months ago in Chalgrove."

Farm thefts have shot up in the past few years, with many local businesses implementing anti-robbery measures. Gangs of organised criminals on quad bikes have left no stone unturned in targeting farms with little or no security measures.

Rural crime on farms, including machinery and livestock theft, costs the UK economy at least £50 million a year, said The Sun.
