CITB Skills & Training Conference returns to Perth

The event will be hosted at Perth Theatre and Concert Hall on Thursday, 28 August

The upcoming CITB Skills & Training Conference, which will take place in Perth, will bring together employers and training providers to explore Scotland’s skills and training landscape.

The event will be hosted at Perth Theatre and Concert Hall on Thursday, 28 August. Graeme Dey, MSP, Minister for Higher & Further Education, will be among the main speakers.

The CITB Executive Team, advisors, construction employers, industry federations, training groups, training providers, and Tier 1 contractors will accompany him.

Registered employers will have the chance to discuss the significance of construction skills and training for their businesses.

They will also learn about current topics such as modern construction methods, pathways into the industry, and the CITB Industry Impact Fund.

They can select workshops that are most relevant to their needs and receive one-on-one support regarding CITB funding and services.

CITB plans to work with training providers to address construction skills shortages. Providers can participate in workshops to influence these initiatives and learn how CITB’s strategy to build a provider network across Great Britain can help them train and support more construction firms.

Other workshops at the Perth Skills & Training Conference will include:

Employer Networks: Employer Networks aim to simplify how employers get the support and funding needed to access the training they want. Making it easier for employers to access training and financing and bringing them together at the local level can also help inform CITB of future training needs.

Training Provider Network: The new Training Provider Network will bring training providers together, providing opportunities for cross-industry collaboration to drive meaningful impact and outcomes for construction training.

Industry Impact Fund: CITB's first fund allows employers to design and develop innovative training and upskilling solutions across six key themes: Productivity, Digital Skills, Retention, Trainers and Assessors, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Net Zero. Find out more about the fund and hear from employers and partners who have accessed the funding.
