The CITB plans to pilot a deaf awareness training programme across building sites in the UK.
Initially, the scheme will offer ‘practical and impactful’ training to 500 individuals working for tier one contractors.
With three in four construction workers exposed to hazardous noise levels, hearing loss is one of the industry’s most significant health, safety and inclusion challenges.
It’s estimated that over 320,000 industry employees live with hearing impairments or tinnitus.

Cardiff has been named the best city for driving a van — according to a study from MoneySuperMarket.
Belfast and Manchester ranked second and third on the list, with London coming in 10th place.
The analysis based its results on a combination of factors, including ease of parking, the amount of additional fees drivers can expect to pay and level of traffic disruption.

Browne’s Scaffolding will introduce visitors to apprenticeships and direct routes into the trade, and the CISRS qualification.
According to a recent poll from the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC), over half of its members have at least one unfilled vacancy, and 83% plan to hire before the end of the year.
