Where Will The Ryder Cup Be Taking Place?

There’s been some changes to the 2026 schedule.

Originally, the Ryder Cup was set to be hosted in Ireland in September 2026. However, a knock-on effect has meant that the competition has been pushed back to September 2027. The Ryder Cup will now take place from the 17th to the 19th. 

It will still be hosted in Ireland, though, with the nation not hosting the competition since 2006. Golfing fans are going to have to wait a little longer before getting to witness those top-class performances, but in the meantime, it’s a good chance to learn more about the actual site of the tournament. 

The Ryder Cup Is Being Held At Adare Manor

The 2027 tournament will be hosted by Adare Manor, coined as one of Europe’s best 5-star resort hotels. Located in County Limerick, the estate features over 800 acres of parkland, perfect for hosting one of the world’s most important golfing competitions. 

Of course, it’s the 18-hole championship golf course that will be of most interest to fans, though. Spanning around 7,500 yards, the Adare Manor course was originally designed by architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1995. However, between 2016 and 2017, the whole course was overhauled, with Tom Fazio redesigning its layout. The new setup has been specifically orchestrated to cater to championship needs. 

Adare Manor’s Construction 

The manor itself began construction in 1832. It took three decades to actually complete the layout, with multiple delays to the schedule. The building is known for its unique colouration thanks to the variety of locally-sourced limestone and has become somewhat of a point of pride for the community. 

From 2016 to 2017, the manor itself also went through a period of restoration. The timber windows were conserved, the stonework was treated, and even the interior finishes were addressed. A new West Wing was also constructed, while a grand ballroom was built to host major events. 

The estate is now in a prime position for the 2027 Ryder Cup and should prove to be the perfect host as the delayed event rolls around.
