These competitors swapped the trade for the Traitors’ Castle.
The Celebrity Traitors returns on BBC One, and it’s an exciting opportunity to get to know a new batch of Faithful and potential Traitors as the game is played all over again. However, this current roster of celebrities comes from the worlds of acting, entertainment, music and sport.
None of them have a construction background. Look throughout the wider roster of Traitors contestants though, and it turns out that a few have a past in the trade! Here are some of them.
Adam Waughman
Series 4 of the UK edition of The Traitors in 2026 saw Adam Waughman step up as a Faithful. The Essex contestant survived until Episode 8, before ultimately being murdered. After his time on the show, he returned to his trade.
Adam was a builder in the day and an avid ghost hunter at night. While he might have swapped his tools for supernatural detectors, it seemed that none of his gear was enough to survive the castle.
Mike Adams
The New Zealand Traitors also has a builder in their midst. In Season 2 of the show, Mikes Adams stepped up as a Traitor. He was found out and banished in Episode 7, despite having a decent run.
Traditionally, he worked on site as a labourer and a builder and used much of his practical knowledge in the challenges that he faced on the show.
Mathieu Weekes
While Mathieu Weekes is not a contestant on the show, it would be cruel not to mention his contributions to the series. Weekes is the production designer on multiple series of The Traitors and has defined the look of the hit run.
Weekes has contributed to other series like I’m A Celebrity, but his time constructing sets and designing incredible backdrops for The Traitors will surely define his legacy. He had previously worked in construction management before moving through the industry!
