This Strictly Star’s Surprising Links To The Construction Industry

Strictly Come Dancing has announced new celebrity dancers and this familiar face has ties to the trade.

After the reveal that Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and Johannes Radebe would be acting as hosts of the 2026 edition of Strictly Come Dancing, the BBC has slowly been revealing the celebrity cast. Among them is Dani Dyer, who famously took part in last year’s competition before sustaining an injury early on.

While many might know Dani for her time on Love Island and as a social media influencer, she actually has ties to the construction industry through her family! Some of that experience has rubbed off on the reality star, leading to an unexpected project.

Dani Dyer has a very famous father, who has starred in EastEnders, The Football Factory, Marching Powder and Rivals. We are, of course, talking about Danny Dyer, who has recently appeared on television alongside his daughter.

However, it was after filming Human Traffic that Dyer found himself at a loss for work. With the movie taking 2 years to be released, Dyer took up manual work on building sites and predominantly worked as a lift operator. It wasn’t long until he was back in the film business, but Dyer was seriously considering a full-time move into the industry had things not worked out.

Strangely enough, Dani Dyer’s husband, footballer Jarrod Bowen, has a few industry links of his own. Not only did his father become a landscaper, but in the early days of Bowen’s career, his dad put him through what has since been dubbed a construction workout. From shovelling heavy cement to flipping tractor tyres, Bowen got creative with the resources to hand.

While Dani Dyer herself will now be getting a second shot at the glitter ball, she has had some time in between seasons of the show to work on a very different project. All those construction ties have seemingly paid off, with both father and daughter coming together to renovate Priory Hill & Nutts Farm Holiday Park.

As part of the Sky original The Dyers' Caravan Park, Dani Dyer got hands-on with the revamp, which included building a new play park and installing new, premium holiday homes. Who knows, perhaps this period of hard graft might give her an edge when Strictly comes back around.
